Patient alarms are used to alert the caregiver when a patient moves from a certain position. For example, they may be used as bed pad alarms to alert you when a patient is no longer in a reclining position or as an alarm in a chair or wheelchair to alert you when a patient is no longer in a sitting position. They also are used as a wandering alert and to wake a person to prevent sleep walking. They are widely used for elder care as a home care monitor, especially in beds and chairs, for entry and exit alert.
